This annual fair and flower festival celebrates St Giles' Day in and around the ancient church in Oxford, as it has done for centuries.
St Giles' Day falls on 1 September, and the festival traditionally falls on the following Monday and Tuesday (with a special blessing ceremony the day before). Welcoming hundreds of people each year, the street and church fill with all manner of craft stalls and entertainment, celebrating the wealth of tradition and antiquity inherent in the city of Oxford. The event is almost as old as the medieval church itself and both are certainly worth the visit.
