Whitby celebrates its annual Moor and Coast festival of traditional music, song and dance. The entertainment around town includes ghost walks, street theatre, ceildhs and workshops.

Artists from Scotland, Ireland and as far afield as Canada come to this annual bash. Confirmed artists for 2008 so far include Norma Waterson and Martin Carthy with Chris Parkinson, Elbow Jane, Winter Wilson, George Papavgerise, Cloud Street, Flossie, George Welch, Ylim, Workshy Profits and Whitby Community Choir.
