The Great Hall & King Arthur's Round Table

The Great Hall is all that remains of Winchester Castle. It dates back to the 13th century and is considered the finest of halls from this period. Inside is one of the greatest symbols of medieval mythology - the Round Table of King Arthur.

Solent Sky

This small geographical area saw the burgeoning of not only 26 aircraft companies but also the largest flying boat operation in the world. To top it all, the legendary Spitfire was designed in the heart of the city of Southampton, by R J Mitchell. Solent Sky (formerly the Southampton Hall of Aviation) celebrates this exciting history, with a host of historic aircraft on display.

 

Mid Hants Railway - Watercress Line

City Art Gallery

Maritime Museum

Set in an area by the city's docks that can boast a seven-century maritime history, Southampton's Maritime Museum is located in a 14th-century warehouse that was originally built for the wool trade, but has also been a jail for prisoners of war and an aircraft factory. It tells the story of Southampton's maritime aspirations since the building of the first docks in the early-19th century, including a special exhibition about the Titanic, which set sail on its fateful maiden voyage from Southampton.
